What is your favourite piece of vintage clothing?
A hand made 60s mod dress that's brown with a cream peter pan coller. I wish I had a million dresses exactly the same in different colours. Le sigh but my sewing skills aren't so hott.
What would be your dream vintage item to own?
I'd like some nice 40s brooches. Ones that I could put on a frock and instantly feel like i'm in Anne of Green gables.
Where do you normally buy your Vintage pieces?
There are some amazing antique shops with sections for nice vintage clothes near where I live. You can sometimes pick up awesome dresses and accessories. I used to go to lots of jumble sales but there seem to be less about these days which is a shame.
Why do you choose to shop vintage?
It's just really nice when you can wear things and know that no one else will have something the same. I normally mix wearing modern stuff with my vintage clothes to make it look a bit less twee. Otherwise i'd end up looking like yawnfest scene girl who wants to look sensitive in their flowery dress. Horrible.
How do you feel about shops such as Topshop copying vintage styles? Do you think it takes away from "real" vintage clothing?
I think it's quite funny that high street shops try to copy vintage styles. They always seem to get it a bit wrong. I don't really think about it because clothes cycles are so fast anyway and people get bored of clothes and move on. I am still waiting for diamonds and neon to go out of style so that I can dress teen-c again without looking like I listen to new rave.
